EDIT: Better yet, have it where we can set the option for only once, once every 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes.

How about the option to flag something as a rental instead? And then have the "rentals" be one set of emails while the normal miners can be another.

Not a bad idea... I'm sure you would still want a proper update of present condition of rentals though. Certainly don't want only one notification if there is an issue. You might miss the first one and the second one gets your attention. I would say simply more flexibility in "what" notifications, for "how often" and possibly "how many" regardless of rental or permanent. Although, I could not be seeing what you intend to convey.
