Diff has gone up and S3 is not very effective. If you don't have very cheap electricity it's not profitable anymore. Changing pool won't help this.

That is the nature of the game. As gear get's older the less it makes from efficiency. I am a little surprised to hear you make 25 a month off a single S3. What is your electricity price?

the s3 is pretty much done.. at todays diff and btc price they make 23$ @ 100% luck..
at 10c a kwh they cost 25$ to run..

altho you can undervolt them.. to add some life.. i have 3 running, but kano's luck is keeping them alive.. but just barely and im using mine to heat the back room to keep the mildew out.. so there is that.

That was what I was thinking that he must be "free" or near "free" to make 25 still. I found that impressive it does it a month for anyone considering age and price they sell for.

They were built like tanks though. So I expect we will see them around for quite a while yet just has to be very very cheap electricity.

with some undervolting you can almost get s5 efficiency.

They really are good miners. Just looked at ebay and still around 100 dollars which is amazing they have still held a decent value considering how long they have mined.

Only advice I have if anyone is getting one if S3 and not S3+ make sure to get speed of miner. Some of batch 1's did not get as spec and they gave a small portion back. Getting a S3+ avoids this, and if not + model just ask seller of screenshot of mining with a decent amount of time on it.
