Since people of the 1300s are the same as we are today, we have the same needs as they did. Some of those needs are religion. People have simply done what people often have done for thousands of years... changed their religion. In addition to the standard religions that are formally known as religion, we now have the new religion of modern science, and the ancient religion of atheism has grown in recent years.

People are not incredibly different than people who existed 700 years ago. I have show that they are the same. You have not shown that they are different even though you say it. Thus, you have faith in something that is not true, but might be if you could come up with some facts. This is the way religion acts.

The difference in modern people over people from the past is, in general we are slightly devolved from what they were, due to entropy.
