What if this key is lost or hacked and abuse (in future)?

I guess, at that point, this coin and any bagholders will be SOL. They could change the code so that future subsidy goes to another address. However, with over 18000 coins and growing sitting in this account, I would think this would be more than a superficial blow to this coin's health. Of course, the dev team could do the right thing and reimburse the new subsidy account with some of the premine. The remedy would probably be too little too late, since a dumpfest would likely occur if this happened, with no chance of market recovery.
Does anyone have more info on how this fund is handled? I would pray that it is sitting in cold storage at the moment. I would also assume that the funds can be recovered with a seed, rather than the key. It would be pretty stupid to lose both the private key and the seed. Roll Eyes
