Yeah it is just a scare tactic so that a user will sell its bitcoin to a lower price and that is bad if you panic to much better not listen and look at what the chart is saying.

This is one reason. Another is that competing projects want you to use their technology instead of Bitcoin. And in the mainstream media it's because banks fear crypto and therefore manipulation by spreading FUD is a good way to make people stay from it.
