Can you just overwrite the current files if you are using the lite version from GitHub? Also, where is the wallet.dat stored (for backup purposes)?

*Download the latest version. See the release date.
How to update the wallet? Just download the new archive, unzip it and then you can delete the old folder.

*Google App is updated automatically in your browser. But if you're not sure, Go to chrome://extensions/ and click - Update extensions.
