He shouldn't, he should only use new iotas, old iotas died months ago. I wonder why people still hang on to it.

"old" or "new", iotas are always iotas. no risk of losing or token conversion. it is only a matter of "demonimation": 1 old IOTA is now equal to 2779531 new IOTA. please, check http://forum.iotatoken.com/t/iota-tech-update/264

So someone is selling me 225,000 old iota. But how will he send it because users here are saying that only new iota can be sent? I'm fully confused now
