Just ordered one. Wondering what power supplies people are using in the states?

Thanks guys!

I suspect that the bitmaintech psu is just a tiny bit short to run an s-9

it does need 210 or more volts so if in USA you need correct voltage wires.

now if you are looking for an ATX 120 volt option EVGA has them  but they are costly

titanium 1600 watt cost - 386 usd

How many of the Bitmain APW3's have you tried out? Through my testing I have 1 remote connected to a APW3 and one now at my place connected to an APW3 and not having issues with them.

What way are you testing the APW3 to determine they are coming up short?  I have been testing by running the units with them so wanted to what tests you were using to get this. Just trying to compare as we seem to be getting different results.

I have personally purchased and have been using 30 of the Bitmain PSUs with no issues so far.  The rest of my miners have been on rental PSUs.  I would say that over the time of 9 months is a very good track record.

I too have had good luck with the APW3 PSUs.  I've had 20 of them over the past.  I currently have 10 of them connected to a relay/raspi setup to remotely power cycle the miners.  I'm using a combo of wiringpi and webiopi.  Working very well.

And re-reading through it I want to make sure it is known I am not meaning to come across rude with questions, I hate that email/posts don't show emotion like talking.

I just have had a good experience with APW3's in past with S7's and now with two S9's.   So I would hate for people to start thinking APW3's are coming up short when in fact many of us are having good luck with them.   And considering the S9 was designed to run off of them and is recommended PSU I think it should not come up short.

Again my testing is done by running 2 S9's off APW3's.  If someone has done a test with them showing and ran into problems specifically with APW3 please share it, I just have not seen real test's showing it.  I am just one person so I realize small scale test,  but I have not had any issues with them.

to further clarify it may be the 3 people that I based this on are using

 hp dps1200 psu's not  bitmaintech 1600 watt psu's

as one of the three people have received info from their it/data center that the psu is a dps1200  not a 1600 watt bitmaintech as they first told me.

the dps1200 is specced at 1200 watts using 240 volts and would certainly be more likely to be short then the bitmaintech 1600watts psu. specced at 1600watts.
