There's no question that using investor funds to manipulate markets is illegal. So unless the claims of market manipulation are untrue, there's nothing to ask.
setting up a buyback (fully disclosed) is not market manipulation. and he didnt say he would use investors funds, though I dont see how allowing funds to be returned to investors at the buy in price can be considerred illegal.
more likely your just upset that you sold before the buyback wall cleared and was set up.
