It is the handicap and the bet result is determined by the final score after handicap applied to it. In short, that bet on France -0.5 will win only if France wins by 1 goal or more. Similarly, a bet on France -1.5 will win only if France wins by 2 goals or more. On the other hand, a bet on France +0.5 will win if France wins or gets a draw.
