The problem with this occurs when the person is already addicted to gambling. Addiction is something that we just can't fight over with simple words. It'll need to be taken care of with actions such as proper discipline. At best, the person would have to consult a psychiatrist.

Consulting a psychiatrist is indeed the best option, but most of the times, the person addicted to gambling would not want to do it himself, so he would need to have the help of friends or relatives or love ones.
