After going through the hassle of creating a Bitcointalk account over VPN (and pay for it to work lol) I can also confirm that my problem was also fixed... I was just about to start fillling the forums with scam warnings. But I think they just have some server problems.

SD is a legitimate site - it just seems to suffer from many technical problems. I think if it were not for the problems the site would be much more popular. For every time there is an issue I suspect that they lose a percentage of customers to rival sites. There is still a big enough base of users for it not to cause too much of an impact however.
