The only thing you can do for reaching that target is trading altcoins but only if you have enough knowledge about it, otherwise you will just end up losing everything your friend gave to you, don't try gambling by thinking that you will double the amount in no time because once you lost them there you would never be able to recover anything so just stay out of it.

If he don't have knowledge then he can always gain it, as only holding 3 btc is the worst behavior to do with coins, it should be grown and taken to a next level.

I think if he has a busy life in the world of fact, then save the btc is something better than he used to be the thing that doesn't rewarding da gives no advantage to him. Indeed it is our obligation to fold duplicate btc owned in order to gain a lot of advantages, but if we have enough money, then the better investment (saving) BTC

Saving will give you good profits in future if price goes higher, but its always good to grow your coins so even if price doesn't skyrocket you can still make good money out of it with more number of coins.
