I'm not sure spending all the money would help you to quit, what if you gain money again? seriously the only person can help you to quit is you yourself or rehab.

Yes, spending out all the money or locking gambling sites or or disabling Internet connection are few frequently discussed way of quitting gambling. But, I do not see no gambler is successful by following these procedures. Because, an addicted gambler will go for alternatives for above way of blocking. Without the self-control, giving up gambling is not easy.

Yes, giving up gambling is so harder if you do not have self control. But, if you go for the origins of gambling, a self controlled gambler will not get gambling addictions. Because, self control is not the habit could be developed in a single day. If self control helps you to come out of gambling then it definitely would have helped you not to get into gambling addictions.

A very good point. Gambling addiction and giving up gambling are not possible for the same gambler who do have self control. This is how self control saves you from not falling into gambling addiction. But, if you got gambling addiction, then you can develop your self control, to get rid of gambling addiction to stop gambling. But, I agree this will not happen in a single day.

Of course there is no overnight success in quitting gambling, it is a step by step process that a certain gambler should do. Once you are addicted you are not gambling for enjoyment but you are just doing it without a direction so in the end you will still lose, for me that is a disease and you have to quit gambling by all means.
