It isn't.
API ≠ game engine : API = Application Programming Interface (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application_programming_interface). Its a communication layer so protocols and subroutines can talk to each other better.

I'm not surprised any of the ION members don't know really what an API is or how they work.

@bizzyb This is a good example of the new type platforms/distributors forming now. Moving through OpenGL and Java, nice.
