You will not hold them for longer as you do not have trust on it and the reason is that you do not have read much about bitcoin and you do not know about the history of bitcoin if you will learn all of these then you will not like to sell your bitcoins and will like to hold your bitcoins for more longer time.

You are right as all of those people who are involved in bitcoin and who have invested in bitcoin and having knowledge about bitcoin are holding their bitcoins from more longer time and do not worry about them as they know that bitcoin is a stronger currency.
