I think that the best thing that you are able to do is is to find a other hobby rot just something that is going to keep you busy because that is going to get you thoughts away from gambling.
Also let somebody close to you manage your money or help you with it at least.

If you have a job then it's good to just focus on your job so you will get promoted and you will receive a higher salary, I guess most of the addicted are those who are not contented with their income and do gambling because they want shortcut to success, that does not succeed most of the time, you need to work the hard way.

The ones who are still looking for more and more
are mostly the ones who are getting in to addiction
trap of gambling.

Contentment and tolerance is a great part in
a person's life.
