A lot of time actually. It is hard to predict what could happen with bitcoin and a lot more with altcoins. Many have tried to predict but most of the time they fail. I remember one in facebook which is paying if you guess the right price. Out of the many comments it is like 5% are right but it is just a guess without facts provided.

yes i also have the same situation, for some time i do trad on right time and it really give me good profit but some other time it is not so much profitable and it cast a big lost.

Its impossible to match the perfect timing every time as we don't know what will happen next in bitcoins and majority of times we may buy or sell bitcoins at the wrong time.

That's right. There is no such thing as perfect timing here. In 90% of cases, my timing was far from perfect, what's important if it all works in the long run.

If you can manage to hold them for long term then you would be having enough time to make decision as you will sell them only if you are making good profits from it and if not you will prefer to hold them even longer.

But even holding for a long time is no guarantee that you will make the right decision, after all, you may wait for the price to go even higher but what happens is a great reduction in price and now you lost the opportunity to make greater profits.

yeah holding never promises us profits in long run as anything is possible in coming years and price may even fall dramatically in future which can bring huge loss for us.

i do not think that bitcoin will be fall its price in future because bitcoin is going to more stronger and a lot of people are adopting bitcoin in huge amount and then they hold their bitcoin for high price and i am sure bitcoin will be more increasing its price too much faster because adoption are too much higher.
