Same reason they dont complain about Credit Card companies reversing payments. It does not happen that often and there usually is at least an address involved.

Are those actually people or do you use services? Services might be required by law (AML/KYC) to gather these information. If you trust paypal to have your back in peer-to-peer trades, bitcoin is probably not for you indeed.
