Logically , the first rule is "sell high , buy low" . If you want to invest in BTC only then you should only buy and hold for long term , note that It takes long time in order to gain profits in that case.
If you want to get involved with BTC/Alts trading then you could invest in ICOs , most of the time (when It's a serious project) , the price should be x2 or x3 .

The last one happens really rare, I have considered ICONOMI as the most powerful ICO of all time and they have lots of investments during the ICO and also after the ICO (before being listed on exchange(s))

How about GNT? 11k btc was reached by them. I may think if iconomi has some shares in the GNT project while GNT can call the big one too. What's your opinion about GNT?

You mean Golem (GNT) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1655002 ?, if this is what you mean that sorry but never heard about them.

If they have reached 11kBTC during the ico then I doubt people have invested there $8m because their thread has 12 pages of replies which is hard to attract investors.

Check the Iconomi thread which has ~800 pages and with lots of advertisement they have reach around 10 millions dollar during the ico.
