Not sure about investing in Ethereum, in the current scenario. Ethereum is showing very high levels of instability. I would buy and hold Bitcoin, because besides having a market with greater liquidity and trading volume, several forecasts indicate that next year may be a great year for it.

Shuffling through different altcoins might be a nice way to get yourself a little boost in profits. However, do not be that dude who will be left out holding the last bag because that means you will be holding that bag for far too long. I suggest that you check out ICOs, check for their roadmaps, how active the community is, the devs are, and what are the plans of the devs for the said coin. If you see substantial interest on the project then partake on it, buy some share. Usually, these coins do have a pump after going live on the markets. It's one way to get some nice profits and might help you double your money in the long run.
