Exactly, bitcoin has shown a rapid growth in comparatively less time as that of gold or other commodities, so we have experienced the potential of bitcoin, and even if it use utilized for those activities, I see a great picture shortlyin near future considering the activities of bitpay and zebpay, etc. We have not yet accepted it fully (I mean in most of the countries you cant spend bitcoins directly, so you have to convert it in fiat) and hence there are lots of opportunities and it will be too early to generalise it.

Most of people decide to buy bitcoin because they realized what kind of big fraud our actual finance system. Bitcoin very useful to send money to other with low fee and fast.
