~~Not sure, I'll ask.~~ When you use scratched equipment (i.e. something with less than perfect durability), the resulting item gets less maximum durability. I'd assume that's what happened to your lasers.

There was supposed to be a button to do this, but it never came around. I think the other way to do it is to reorder your cargo, first rocket type goes first.
