That can be shameful if you are not a responsible person and you are making gambling in your first list before your family and duties. And that is making gambling as a bad habit if that is bringing them a very bad result. I'm just hiding that I'm gambling because I wanted to hide it since my family already knew about it.

You have hit the right spot. Setting gambling as your first priorities than prioritizing first your family or your loves ones is a really shameful thing to be ashamed of, in short, being a irresponsible gambler with no self-discipline to himself is the worst. Setting aside the valuable things just for gambling is not acceptable. Doing this might possibly be the reason for you to be lose your family, your friends, and even your love ones, and just hiding it to your love ones already means that you are being ashamed of being a gambler.

Gambling could be part of our life as it gives us a little enjoyment but let us not make it our life. We should be alright even if we will not be able to play it for sometime, our family is very important, we work hard to give them a comfortable life and we are willing to sacrifice for their happiness.
Being selfish or greedy will lead to self destruction, we should not let we will be in that situation because of gambling addiction.
