did ok by selling at the top and setting orders to buy in on the way down but could have done a lot better if was able to buy in real time

Im pretty sure it would not have gone as low as you bought for had it been working in real time. The lag has caused people to panic sell.

probably, but I dont think the lag causes the panic sell, its the panic sell that causes the lag, but I will be moving to an exchange where you can make orders in real time for one third the price for sure

I still have a lot to learn in these situations but I am happy with the small profit I have potentially gotten out of this.
