That is not necessary. My downclock SAPPHIRE NITRO RX480 8 Gb OC+ ( stock BIOS) hashed 300 H/s (1200 MHz GPU, 2100 MHz GDDR5). Hashed be even more on the default clock (1342 MHz GPU).
