That can be shameful if you are not a responsible person and you are making gambling in your first list before your family and duties. And that is making gambling as a bad habit if that is bringing them a very bad result. I'm just hiding that I'm gambling because I wanted to hide it since my family already knew about it.

Yes totally agree with you, When someone considers gambling rather than performing duties and family care then it's shameful.
However, If you are performing these things well then you don't have to be shameful

One in hundred might be having such a mentality to give importance to gambling rather than family and other necessities. As mentioned thereis nothing to ashamed if he does his responsibilities in the right way and on leisure or with the excess amount after his needs he take part into gambling.
