But if that were true, wouldn't they have stayed away from any of the 'X' series algo's? Especially considering its 11-15 rounds of hashing? Following your theory all that would be needed to make the bakail X series miners 'worthless' would be to change 1 round of the hashing?

I'm not saying these are real by any means, its pretty well established now that its a scam, but based on your reasoning most ASIC's would never have been made....

They can't because they didn't say they will ,but zec team said that, i can't tell how technically it can be done , but i think they can change the algo before asics takes more than 51% of the network hashrate, but even if it is not true it will keep asics away for a time.
I think anyone made or trying to make an asic for zec or eth will keep for self profit rather than selling and risk that algo change or fake POS ( if they exist)
