You hear hackers stealing this and that but that doesn't mean that they are going to steal your money specifically. They would target online wallets or even exchanges. They will target something big. To make your bitcoins safe, which is also a digital money by the way, you should create a desktop wallet or even a paper wallet. You hear in the news people getting hacked and getting tricked, but that's their fault. They didn't secure their money enough.
