Yes of course you can break the static and sell the them at anytime. But later there will be demand for nodes so people will pay you to take it off you. There is no burden to have ing a node, it's a win win if you are holding enough coins.

Yea but I'm saying I need to keep the node online and I dont want to leave my computer online at all times. Should I use amazon services to run the static? If so, any good guide on how to do that?

I thought one of good things about static node is its offline...but I could be wrong.

I recommend joining slack, there is a channel dedicate to setting up nodes.
