A lot of carpets burned, alot of people died because of suffocation and many wounded. Gave that article a skim after reading about it here, that really was a senseless death went and got all the chips and then went and committed suicide.
Also one of the rare cases where being in the VIP room instead of escaping did not work because of smoke and fire.
