Also: Since i have ubuntu17 partition on the SSD, how do I get the nvOC partitioned on there too? - so that i can unplug the extremely fast 32-gig USB i used to boot nvOC? Thanks all <--- PS major newb here

I'm not sure if you want to image the ssd with nvOC or install it side by side with vanilla Ubuntu ?

If your looking to install it side by side; this would require manually editing the partitions: which I don't recommend for new linux users.

In regards to smi clock responses; are you using a single GPU?
