I already have one in GBP (i'm from UK) which I have some longish term investments in..

I now want one to day trade in USD...

Stephen is correct, but he hasn't explained how you add other currencies. To add another currency to your account, you need to go into your MtGox settings and change your main currency to the new one (e.g. USD). You will now have a new wallet in this currency. Then, change it back to your preferred (e.g. GBP). You can activate every single currency this way if you wish. Once done, you will always be able to trade in this currency in the future. I have access to GBP, EUR and USD wallets by using this method.
