It depends upon which country you reside. For me, its quite easy to cashout bitcoins directly to my bank account for fees of almost 1-1.5%. Which is quite affordable. There are several trading companies in India allowing cashout for meager charges.
So best place to sell btc is local companies.

In my country too it's quite easy to cash out so far your bank account does not have restriction and the amount to cash out does not exceed the maximum for an individual without explanantion. So in my own case as a form of advise depending on the amount to be cash out, I would do it bit by bit because I don't have the energy to start giving explanations to someone who probably might have heard about bitcoin but does not know how it works.
