Can you see what your GPU temperature is doing? Other than the potential loss of submitted shares [which is likely quite small for most people], the risk to your hardware is cycling temperature which will fatigue the parts and eventually cause premature failure [statistically]. It isn't so different from why "highway miles" are so much easier on your vehicle than "city miles". It is a basic principal in materials science and fatigue applies to nearly every metallic substance and MANY other.

Yes. The largest gap was about 3 seconds and GPU load dropped to 0% while the temps were about 1°C lower. But most of the time I cant even see gaps in MSI Afterburner.
