I'm a bit confused, I know the domain has been seized but has btc-e actually gone into bankruptcy and will we have a way to claim any funds from them?
Too soon to really answer any of these questions
Well, how far the USA hands reach?
https://btc-e.nz still in control. Even though, it is also cloudflare, which is a USA company. So anytime soon, it could be gone too.
btc-e.nz WHOIS return this :
Domain Status:
440 Request Denied
So it is not even possible to access it.
Also i don't know if some of you guys remember that btc-e used the domain btc-e.ru in the past. Right now this domain redirect to another platform almost similar to btc-e with the domain name :
https://exmo.me/May be this is where our lost funds/coins will end up ? I have the feeling that this site is linked to btc-e.
Bizarre how similar the API is, the trollbox wording "ban: User XXX has been banned for XXX minutes" and a $500 min chat limit..
Either they're directly related or it's a copycat, but btc-e only has two official domains: btc-e.com and btc-e.nz
I remember very well that when i joined btc-e they had this domain name btc-e.ru working, then they stopped it to move to btc-e.com
There are no more trace of that online, even on archive website. But you can take a look here :
https://archive.litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=61.0https://pastebin.com/QyjS3U9MWhat i can see here is that btc-e probably fooled us and they build this site
https://exmo.me/ long time ago and they knew that this problem will happen. If they still have access to our coins then they will probably end up on this similar website. If they were serious, we should already have a message in our email providing us a way to recover our BTC/LTC/ETH...
