There is a lot of merit to holding bitcoins long term. However, some altcoins could give as much or even more in rate of return. I can see benefits to holding a combination of bitcoins and altcoins for several years as long as the altcoins are some of the major ones that aren't so risky.

It is possible to make more in future if we kept holding, there is a lot of expectation when it comes to Bitcoin potential.
Bitcoin is becoming more potential in the market where many people are attracting to Bitcoin.
