You'll stake a bit less and you'll require more days overall, but you are still able to get staking rewards in Rain without having the pc open 24/7.

Not exactly like you say. In a greatly simplified form, it might look like this:
There are 100 coins with 100% per annum - turn on once a year and get another 100 coins, a total of 200.
The same 100 coins, but turn on once every six months - the first time 100 + 50 coins, and the second is 150 + 75. A total of 225
That is, ideally, the wallet should still work 24/7 online.
Mining PoS every day 24/7 is like visiting a bank every day not only for get interest, but to place a new deposit at interest.
