That's just a straight up lie, the dev is working hard and even hired a second programmer to get the job done faster, he's a man of his word too. Everything that he promised he delivered. And he's giving us updates every couple of days.
The Community seems to be a mixed bag , some are just in it for a quick buck but most of us believe in this coin and for example even opened a ELIX Discord Server, and our frequent postings keep this Topic on top too so more people notice it . Ergo i don't think that ELIX is turning into a "shitcoin".

IMO, the dev should give us some tasks to help making the project grow and or get the development done faster
