I decided to run my own wallet today and also ran into the no synchronization issue. After the .conf file is created, how long should I expect it to still say "out of sync"? I don't see any indication that it's making any progress at this point.

I am running a windows wallet, I am getting still "out of sync" after the .conf file is created and I have over 11 connection! How long should I expect to wait?

Delete everything on the wallet folder EXCEPT for your wallet.dat then open wallet again. it'll create the deleted folder/files again and resync to the latest block

Left it on for a while and now it has updated all the blocks, finally!

The devs really need to update the wallet with a loading bar to let the user know it is syncing and updating.
