Sorry to say but it is proper for you guys to be making use of google once in a while. If you had just typed daytrading on google, it would have given you explicit information than what you would have gotten here. However, to help your condition, it is a term used when you refer to buying and selling of a security or asset within a single trading day.

More like staying glues to your system and trying not to miss the slightest chance of profit no matter how little. It is more like the opposite of holding for a long term hopefully for more profit. I hope that helps you and if it doesn't, it isn't my business as you can gladly ask google.
