I remember people having the same thoughts on Bitcoin. I was telling friends 6 years ago to buy it, and like you, they said, "Why buy something that people can just mine for free?"

Nope you didnt get it.
I will buy what i like - but if price is very much long downtrend then people will not use it, its too dangerous to accept some paymen - you need to sell as fast as you can - what makes more pressure to the price etc.

That's why acting rather than reacting on market changes is what separates the men from the boys.
