Even if a person is not entirely addicted to the point of compulsion, it is possible that their gambling habits may not be entirely in their control. A problem gambler is someone who has some sort of gambling behavior that is disturbing their normal life. This can often be identified when a person begins to find themselves chasing losses, lying to loved ones about their betting habits, or starts to realize that they cannot seem to stop themselves from gambling more and more often. So it's really hard to confess your gambling problems except you have no money and no ways left to go. I used to be one of them so that why i know so well Smiley
That is a good way to put it. Indeed there are tell tail signs that a gambler is indeed addicted to gambling. Usually the do chase their losses and they bet every penny they have. Sometimes some of them just take loans to gamble with or even sell their property just so that they can gamble with the money. Pretty sad truth, but it happens everywhere.
Yes that's really one of the scenarios wherein they got to sell their properties just to gamble. This is a sign of an overaddiction to gambling. The moment they don't have money anymore, they make loans to their friends and relatives, and when they lose the money, they bet their properties already or  their expensive gadgets they own. This is not really supposed to be happening. We should only play gambling to create more friends, not to damage properties.
