No you are wrong, its still same like before if you lost your password you have to provide 12 word recovery phrase to access your wallet and in OP's case, he don't have those words backed up anywhere.

The only way for you to recover your wallet is to keep on trying all possible passwords you have ever used till now in other sites.

This is the only way if you have lost your 12 word phrase which you would really need to remember all the passwords that you would use commonly everytime you do create an account.This is the last resort for you to access that wallet again because once you lost that recovery phrases it is really impossible to get in even if you do have the identifier and the email.Its not possible to access it for sure.
