Coins which have their own blockchain, requires wallet to be online and open 24x7 since they are acting as nodes supporting the specific coin's chain and get rewarded by staking their coins.

It is in the row of bitcoin and acts by itself that is why we need to let it be open just like how miners do it.
The best part is everyone could do it. Hell even if you are just at work you could open it to get stakes for the 8 hours of working. Grin
