You made a very good decision to quit gambling at all, because it's really too risky and you can lose your money in few minutes. Personally, i don't consider gambling like a source for profit, I just play it for fun, In the past i made a lot of mistake and i lost a lot of money, but after that i make a decision and i consider it like an entertainment, and i usually bet with low amounts.

It really does not take long time to learn from gambling mistakes, we can already learn something when the first time we are gambling without having to wait until losing or winning. like when you face a first experience of loses, you will automatically wonder whether you should continue to gamble or not. Well, if you are someone who thinks long then you already know what you should do.
