You couldn't just make them stop buying even if Bitcoin was known to have a fatal flaw or started to be replaced by something else, better.

It impossible to happen, because a lot of people getting interested to bitcoin and become popular now. And if people stop buying bitcoin maybe this is the reason why the price of bitcoin is sometimes down but mostly up.
