because it sounds cool and it's an impressively high number. that's a great reason for coming up with any figure don't you think?

it's pretty crazy how huge bch is compared to this when you compare the levels of skill and vision. by next year bch will probably look even less convincing than it is now. i don't see why this can't take some of that thunder.
Wink I really don't wanna argue with a positive outlook, but talking about such fix numbers in USD is really not reasonable and imho just BS and I don't see why anybody would post s.th. like this. Especially as long as don't even have a BTX/USD trading pair. So these predictions do also include a prediction about BTC.

I was just keen to know if there is even any hard evidence or model or any reason (chart theory, values derived from metcalf's, whatever...) for giving such predictions. In such facts I would be very interested, but statements like "I see it being worth XXX Gummibears" on their own are not worth the bits they're encoded in.
Well Metcalfe's is used as  a valuation tool at a specific point in time but it can't be used as a predictive tool.
Yeah, I know. But it's just another indicator when you're trying to determine especially if something is undervalued or not at a certain point in time. But I don't think I need to explain that to you Smiley
I especially mentioned it because it's one of the few things which really could be used atm, because it doesn't need that many inputs. I didn't mean metcalfe's alone, it was just one possible factor under many to create an outlook. Therefore metcalfe's helps you to get to know where you are and from there you can look where to go. But as Steve said in the distribution phase there's no sense in long term predictions. You can go for short pumps and dumps and have some fun or you can believe in the superior technique and believe in a long term value, but you shouldn't try to predict anything long term. Especially not in an open forum where you could mislead less experienced users.
