Why the rush? There should be a gap between pre-ICO and main crowdsale. The idea of a presale is to 1) evaluate interest through sales 2) make people aware of the project and main ICO 3) reward early supporters and 4) give the project time to use funds from presale to market and fund bounty campaigns for the project.

If it didn't do so well already in the presale, this in fact makes a stronger case to extend the timeframe for the mainsale, or you end up with too little funding and many supporters with too high expectations.

14 days is very small gap between pre-ICO and ICO.
If you are confident that you will find more supporters soon, why not.
But better to see what the team could with pre-ICO funds. Good results - more supporters.
