My miner was connected to the pool. I have noticed that the payout was to high for me. I was lucky and got 12 - 20 instead of 0.8 per block.
On the other hand, there is nothing I can do with these coins. Mining was just for fun.
After a while my miner marked the pool as dead. That was the moment when all the miners stopped mining.

It looks like the port difficulty configuration was wrong. Port 3256 should work with diff 256. But that port sends diff 8 to the miner. Later on, each diff 8 share was counted as diff 256 for the payout.
